The Poly/mono-katoikia is a hybrid structure that combines a two-story suburban mono-katoikia (single-family house) with the structural frame of a three-story poly-katoikia (apartment building). The two building types are separated by a displaced "pilotis" of the typical Greek poly-katoikia, an "in-between space" that operates as an elevated entrance and a pebble-garden and injects movement and action into the heart of the building.
